Just what is a healthy diet?
The scientific evidence is quite clear — in countries that have the lowest rate of degenerative disease the diet is:
- Plant based (not vegetarian)
- Low in animal protein
- High in fiber
- Low in fat but with a concentration of healthier fats
- LOTS of fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains
- Processed, refined foods and beverages are minimal to non-existent
